Pre-match or in-play?

Pre-match prices give you time to think and compare. In-play gives you information – you've seen how the first twenty minutes went. Neither is smarter by default; pick the one that matches how much time you have.

Betting slip types: singles, accas and systems

Three ways to build a slip, each with a different risk shape:

• Single – one selection, one result. £10 at 2.10 returns £21 if it wins.
• Accumulator – several selections multiplied together, and every one has to win. Three legs at 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 multiply to 5.4, so £10 returns £54.
• System bet – one slip split into several smaller combinations, so a single wrong pick doesn't sink the lot. It costs more per slip, because you're placing several bets at once.

Betting markets you'll use most

For each football match you'll usually see:

• 1X2 – home win, draw or away win.
• Over/under – total goals above or below a line, such as 2.5.
• Both teams to score – yes or no.
• Handicap – one side starts with a virtual head start or deficit.
• Draw no bet – your stake comes back if the match is drawn.
• Outrights – who wins the league, the cup or the tournament.

In-play betting and cash-out

Once a match kicks off, our odds move with the action. Live stats and a match tracker sit beside the markets, so you can see possession, shots and danger moments before you commit.

On eligible bets, cash-out lets you settle early for the amount on offer – handy when your acca is three legs up and the last match is getting nervy. The figure changes as the game goes on, and it'll usually be less than the full potential return. Bear in mind that a cashed-out slip no longer counts for the 3+1 freebet.

Betting rewards: the sports match

New to us and mainly here for football? The sports welcome match tops up a first deposit by 120% – any amount between £20 and £500 qualifies, and the bonus stops at £600. You clear it by staking 10 times deposit plus bonus within 30 days – the lightest rollover of our four welcome matches.

Only accas count: two or more legs, every leg at odds of 1.4 or higher. Bets on tennis or baseball don't count, and neither do handicap, draw no bet or outright markets – racing outrights included. We may void bets placed outside those rules, winnings and all.

Betting rewards: the 3+1 freebet

For regulars, the 3+1 freebet rewards steady acca building. Get three qualifying accas settled and we give you a freebet worth 15% of what you staked on those three, somewhere between £4.50 and £100.

What makes an acca qualify? A stake of at least £10, and three or more selections each priced at 1.3 or higher. Singles and system bets don't count, nor do slips paid for with a freebet, slips you cashed out, outright bets or duplicate tickets.

Say your three tickets were £55, £75 and £110. Together that's £240, and 15% gives you a £36 freebet.
